Foremost among the obstacles faced is the almost prohibitive licensing fees demanded by the major record labels (and blocks in most cases procuring the rights to major rock albums). On the other hand, obtaining the rights to these tapes is no walk in the park. There's a vast amount of music, be it rock, jazz, classical, etc., already on tape.
